Permanent Position

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team in our site based in Walthamstow London. Reporting to the Engineering Manager. The role will provide support to the Engineering Team by ensuring all plant; equipment and services are maintained safely, in good working order, whilst keeping downtime to a minimum.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be Engineering time served apprentice. Electrical Bias with strong mechanical crossover knowledge. PLC controls, DC and AC inverter drives.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics is a must.
Strong fault finding skills on mechanical and electrical systems using a logical approach.
Ideally possess knowledge and experience gained in a production/manufacturing environment.
Print or packaging industry will be an advantage.

Other competencies may include: Mechanical fabrication, fluid process engineering, heating and ventilation systems, and rotary motion control.

  • Resourceful with attention to limitations and detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • To adhere to all of the Company’s procedures on Health & Safety.
  • Using your electrical skills to resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact to production
  • Completing PPM routines when scheduled to do so
  • Continually modifying PPM routines to deliver continued improvements in machine uptime, reliability and efficiency
  • Comply with company purchasing procedures
  • Follow instructions provided by your Engineering Manager
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times
  • To be a proactive team member 
  • To look to improve technical skills and knowledge at all times
  • This role will involve the successful applicant being ‘on-call’ on a bi-weekly basis for emergency breakdowns.
